Magic a|wiseguy Strategy Beans - on CPMA TDM strategy (quite different to the VQ3 ones), usefull especially for new cpma teams. Magic a|wiseguy Beans - Coaching - "This is a set of guidelines and tools that I have found to be most productive in coaching q3 tdm over the years. This is not a comprehensive be-all guide, it is just a starting point for players that are new to coaching. As time progresses a coach will sort out what works best for him and his team." In order to run a server you need all mappacks (1-5) (even on a listen server). The following files are available: CPMA v1.0 (includes mappack 1-4) (~40MB) CPMA v1.1 final (600KB) mappack 5 (24MB) If you are completely new to CPMA you should get all those 3 files above! (Others may only get v1.1 and mp5) Source/Link: www.promode.org

cpma100.zip which is ~14MB (mod & mappack4), and cpma100maps.zip which is ~42MB (mod & mappack1-4). You need ONE of them. Which one depends on how "current" you are: the smaller zip contains just the mod itself and the new map pack; the larger one has the 3 previous CPM map packs as well. You MUST have all the maps installed, so if you want to get a jump on things and minimise tomorrow's DL, make sure you have the previous map packs already. (mappack1, mappack2, mappack3) There is no "installer". CPMA is cross-platform, and I have no interest in making Windows-only EXEs. Frankly, anyone who isn't capable of unzipping a file likely isn't capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time, and is thus in for a pretty tough time anyway if they do somehow end up on a server... :) For those who weren't in #promode at the release you can reread the text, arQon said/wrote before he gave out the link , here on pq.de Source/Link: promode.org - news

Looks like we may get a nice xmas present from arQon with the chars slowly running out forcing the mighty 1.0 to appear :] *** Notes for the Z series *** This is where we prepare for a final release. Server admins should delete ALL existing PK3's in cpma/ before installing (old players/extras/client paks) - each Z-series build is "complete" and consists only of z-cpma-client-<version>.pk3 and z-cpma-extras-<version>.pk3 Get CPMA v0.99z1 from challenge-tv.com Source/Link: promode.org

0 critical 1 major (FreezeTag-only: stickiness) 1 minor (FreezeTag-only: scoreloop when an entire team drops mid-game) 1 unclassified (certain configs can make it impossible to MVD or coach, though I think I just realised why) Features 1 minor (enabling drop for BFG and BFG Ammo) Get it here, go play, go test, hf. :) Closer.. closer... to v1.0 :) Source/Link: www.promode.org

CPMA v1.0: Releasedate
|
|
Incredible but true, I've set a date for 1.0. "Mid-December" is as precise as I'm willing to say right now, and yes that IS 2002. Think of it as a Christmas present. :P In related news, the 99y1 Cooker Build is now available. As usual, a "major" version number change means something significant has happened. For 99y it's a pretty hefty overhaul of modes; but more importantly, with the 'y' series CPMA is now feature-frozen. In other words: that's it. Nothing gets added to the code between now and 1.0 (though we have some media and other "stuff" still to come). The 'z' series will be release-candidate builds, and there won't be many of them. This is effectively your LAST CHANCE to report any bugs: so please actually make an effort to do so in the forums. Source/Link: promode.org news

CPMA v0.99x8: last build before PR 1.32

It adds some (dunno yet what) fun 1on1 stuff and fixes a tdm exploit. Further, arQon writes about the upcoming PointRelease v1.32 which he already could work with. He also seems glad about what TTims (id worker) is doing with the engine :) (seems for me to be the first time he says that) Download CPMA v0.99x8 Source/Link: promode.org news
